NO TRAINING WHEELS!
So this last week I convinced Parker to take his training wheels off - telling him that his cousin Cade would be impressed the next time we saw him if he could ride his bike without training wheels. One thing you need to know is Parker Loves Cade and can't stop talking about him- too bad he lives in Reno. So off to the garage we went to take the training wheels off which we have done before but he just wasn't ready that time and we ended putting them back on. So we tried a few times with me running beside him but Parker keep falling and was getting a bit frustrated so we but the bike away and then later the night tried with Daryl but still he still wasn't quite ready for us to let go. So yesterday Parker saw the neighbors riding bikes outside and insisted we go and try again. By the time we got outside the neighbors had gone inside but Parker seemed determined even trying to start out riding without any help. Parker kept telling me he could ride all by himself if he could ride in the street. At first I said no but since there wasn't that many cars out and he seemed so sure he could do it- I caved and said yes. And he was right- more room proved more confidence to ride his bike. I started out running along side him bare foot ( I didn't think we would be outside that long!) and sure enough I let go and he just kept going! I started screaming and clapping and crying all at the same time! Daryl came running out and got to see Parker's first ride. I am so proud of you little man. I told him I would bake him a cake I was so proud of him- he has already requested an incredible Hulk cake with green frosting! At least he knows what he wants right!
